Zapped! - Find the Remote or Else

🎃 GameDev.tv Halloween Jam 2025 Submission

This is our first-ever game and game jam submission!

In this game, you'll be keeping the evil TV happy by finding the lost TV remote. However, the remote keeps changing locations. Keep finding it, but don't discover what happens when the TV is no longer pleased.

Best played on a Chromium-based browser!

Concept

Our original concept for this game was to include additional mini-games that would randomly swap with the hide-and-seek mechanic, such as a DVD-logo breakout game or a mini-game where you have to tune the TV's frequency. We also wanted to add a leaderboard and a trick-or-treat candy mechanic with random buffs and debuffs.

Unfortunately, combining that with work and other responsibilities proved too much to accomplish. However, we are happy with the final result.

Known Issues

• There is initial controller support, but controls are still a bit off.
• Initial stuttering when loading the level. Should resolve after a few seconds.
• The bathtub and shower have broken lighting.
• You may encounter green stripes and other artifacts in the wall reflections.
• Browsers handle the game differently. Use a Chromium-based browser for the best experience. Game seems entirely broken on some Firefox configurations.
